Weekend Wishlist (9)

Hey everyone!  Happy Saturday!
Do you have a list of books building up in your head (or on your bookshelf), that have been out for awhile, but you've never read, but you keep hoping you will?
Weekend Wishlist is a way for bloggers to share their to-be-read piles with each other, and to remind themselves that, though we all adore the new releases, there are many backlist titles that deserve our love too.
I'm still working out the kinks of this meme, so for now, if you'd like to participate, either leave a link to your WW post in the comments, or email me at gkgrlbk@gmail.com, and I'll add your link below.

Anyway, here's mine!

In the blink of an eye.
Everyone disappears.
Gone.

Everyone except for the young. Teens. Middle schoolers. Toddlers. But not a single adult. No teachers, no cops, no doctors, no parents. Gone, too, are the phones, internet, and television. There is no way to get help.
Hunger threatens. Bullies rule. A sinister creature lurks. Animals are mutating. And the teens themselves are changing, developing new talents-unimaginable, dangerous, deadly powers-that grow stronger by the day.
It's a terrifying new world. Sides are being chosen and war is imminent.
The first in a breathtaking saga about teens battling each other and their darkest selves, gone is a page-turning thriller that will make you look at the world in a whole new way.  -from goodreads.com

This series--which I have heard NOTHING but good things about--has been sitting on my TBR pile forever.  I'm going to love it.  I can tell.  My coworker loves it (and gives me grief for not having read them yet), my friend loves it (and half the time looks like she's heartbeats away from pinning me down and making me read them), even Stephen King loves them!  So I KNOW I'm going to love them.

I have no excuse.  Bring on the flogging.

There are three books out in this series so far, and the forth one is coming out any day now, so I really have to get reading.

What do you think?  Have you read this series?  Did you like it?

Let me know!

  1. I really enjoyed Gone. Considering it's not my type of read, it didn't absolutely love it, but everyone else I know who has read them, love them!

Right now, I'm really wanting some of the new releases of April and I'm waiting on some books to arrive from Amazon. Between Shades of Gray is one I can't wait to get my hands on!
