Weekend Wishlit - October 2010

I've decided that every weekend I'm going to do a little round-up post of some of the YA novels that caught my eye during the week...I figure that if I want to read them, then maybe some of you do too.  Some of these will be upcoming releases, some will have just come out, and some might be old as the hills, but something about them made me wish for them like mad...

So without further ado...the list...

defiance

Defiance: A Strange Angels Novel

Why I Wish - I just finished up Strange Angels 1-3, and I'm getting pretty impatient (desperate, more like) to get my hands on the next one.  I'm chomping at the bit here.  Can't wait to see what happens next.  While I'm at it, I'd like the next one after that too please.  Pretty please?  Also, have you seen this cover?  Gorgeous!  All that plus the tagline at the top?  Nobody tells Dru what to do.  So excited!   Want want want.

nevermore
Nevermore

Why I Wish - Something about the combination of cheerleader, goth boy, and Edgar Allen Poe has me checking my library's website every two minutes to see if they've got it in yet.  I want this one so bad.

The Replacement

Why I Wish - Look at the cover!  I would read this on the cover alone!  (yes, I realize I'm a little bit messed up)

mockingjay

Mockingjay (The Final Book of The Hunger Games)

Why I Wish - Just finished books 1 and 2 of the Hunger Games series (my reviews will be up early next week, if all goes to plan).  I can't wait for the conclusion (this is another of my obsessive library website checking habit...I need help)

immortal

Immortal (Immortal (Quality))

Why I Wish - Very into paranormal fiction right now.  And this looks ilke it fits the bill.  I've heard good things from other bloggers, too.

iamnumberfour

I Am Number Four (Lorien Legacies)

Why I Wish - Aliens!  I love sci-fi.  I love adventure, and it looks like this one has plenty of both.  Also, it's being made into a big movie, so I've gotta read it before I see it.  High hopes for this one.  Also, very cool cover.
